Additional types of costs
These are the types of costs a customer may pay to purchase, license, implement, maintain, upgrade, use or otherwise enable the capabilities listed on this page, or in connection with the data they generate: fixed, recurring and transaction-based, whether Mira or a third party charges them.
- Subscription. Mira EMR is licensed as a recurring subscription, priced per practice and quoted on request. The capabilities on this page are included in the subscription at no additional fee unless listed below.
- Implementation and data migration. A one-time fee may apply for setup, training and moving data from a prior system, quoted per practice before signing.
- Direct messaging, (b)(1), (e)(1) and (h)(1). Sending and receiving Direct messages uses an account with a health information service provider (HISP), EMR Direct, and a Direct address for the practice and each clinician who sends. The HISP's fees, if any, are quoted per practice and may be passed through.
- Third-party interfaces. An interface to an outside lab, imaging center or other system may carry a one-time setup fee or a fee from that third party, quoted per interface.
- API access, (g)(7), (g)(9) and (g)(10). Mira charges no fee to patients or to app developers to register an app or to call the APIs (https://miraemr.com/developers/api).
- API deployment by the customer. Included in the Mira EMR subscription. Mira charges no separate fee to a customer to deploy or run the APIs.
- Electronic health information export, (b)(10). No fee.
- Quality measure reporting, (c)(1) through (c)(3). Included in the subscription. Mira charges no separate fee to calculate measures or to import or export QRDA files.
- Other relied upon software. Medplum, Google Firebase Authentication, NLM AccessGUDID and the MITRE cqm libraries are run by Mira as part of the subscription, at no separate fee to the customer.
How the certified capabilities work
- FHIR API, (g)(10). A Medplum FHIR server that Mira runs for each practice serves the API. Apps sign in through that server's authorization server.
- Direct messaging, (b)(1) and (h)(1). Messages travel through EMR Direct's HISP, from the Direct address of the practice or the clinician who sends.
- Sending a record by email, (e)(1). A patient may send their record to any email address. The portal tells the patient before it sends that ordinary email is unencrypted.
- Clinical quality measures, (c)(1) through (c)(3). Mira EMR calculates the nine inpatient measures listed above. Results export as QRDA Category I files per patient (the hospital's CMS submission) and as one QRDA Category III aggregate file per run.
- Supported browsers. The current and previous major versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox.
Commitments under the Conditions of Certification
- Information blocking. Mira does not engage in information blocking (45 CFR Part 171).
- Communications. Mira does not restrict a customer or user from communicating about the usability, interoperability or security of Mira EMR, users' experiences with it, Mira's business practices related to exchanging electronic health information, or the way it is used (45 CFR 170.403).
- APIs. The API documentation, terms of use and fees are public with no sign-in, any app developer may register, and the service base URLs are published (45 CFR 170.404).
